Step 1 - Swing by the ol' credit union for a second loan on the VW. Go Big Money!

Step 2 - Check Rick Steve's website and find a tour that fits your budget, your spring break and your ability to score free air mileage tickets.

Step 3:  Drop the dogs off at the "pet resort" hoping they have as nice a time as you will!

Step 4: Figure out what to pack in one carry on each.

Step 5: Spend Loads of time hanging out in various airports, airplanes and trains.

Step 6: Check into hotel pretending (unsuccessfully) you have a grasp of the local language.  "Che cosa?"  "Mi Parlo troppo?"

Step 7: Arrive early so you can explore on your own.   We chose to spend our extra day in Orvieto.   We fell in love with this town and almost got taken into custody when Richard tripped the foot alarm in the cathedral while gawking at Luca Signorelli's amazing frescos.  Check out our slide show of some of the sites we saw in Orvieto.

Step 9:  Take thousands of pictures and try to decide which ones to include in your scrapbook.

Step 8:  Befriend a wonderful group of people who will be your fellow tour members.  Be extra nice to your "buddy". You never know when she will have to break down a bathroom door to rescue you.
